Use YouTube for Buyer Trust

By Edmund Yong
14 min read

You do not need to become a creator to use YouTube well.

For founders, YouTube is useful when buyers search for help, need to see the workflow, or need trust before booking a call or trying a product.

Make Buyer Help, Not Channel Content

A good founder video answers a buyer question and moves one qualified viewer toward a comment, template, demo, trial, or call.

Direct Answer

Use YouTube for tutorial-heavy products, visual workflows, AI tools, devtools, onboarding-heavy tools, complex workflows, products where buyers want to see output before talking, comparisons, teardown content, and products where buyers search "how to do X."

Skip YouTube for first-customer acquisition if your buyer is easier to identify and message directly this week.
