Startup Club — Privacy Policy

Account. Your email address. Signing in works with one-time email codes — we never see or store a password.

Profile. What you choose to add: name, handle, location, bio, avatar image, social links, and your GitHub username if you connect it.

Startup details. Startup names, links, taglines, logos, and revenue figures. Revenue is self-reported unless you connect a verification source (see "Revenue verification" below).

Community content. What you post for other members: chat messages (text, GIFs, and voice notes), forum topics and replies, network-board listings, launch-calendar events, and reactions. Live chat shows a rolling 7-day window; older messages are no longer visible in the app. Voice notes are stored in private storage and playable only by signed-in members.

Tasks and progress. Your tasks, standups, streaks, day plans, and goals sync privately to your account so they follow you across devices. Other members never see them.

AI advisor chats. Messages you send to the in-app AI advisors are transmitted to our AI model providers to generate the reply. We do not use your chats to train models.

Support and feedback. Bug reports, feature requests, and any screenshot you choose to attach (screenshots are stored privately and visible only to the founder).

Purchases. Subscriptions bought in the app are processed by Apple or Google; website subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We receive subscription status (active/expired, plan, store), never your card details.

Usage analytics. We run our own first-party analytics (no ad networks, no data brokers): a random device identifier, event names like "app opened" or "task completed", platform, and app version. We use this solely to understand and improve the product. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal data for advertising.

If you connect a revenue source (for example Stripe) to display verified revenue, we fetch summary metrics (such as monthly recurring revenue) through that connection. You control whether the number is shown to other members or kept private, and you can disconnect at any time.

If you connect GitHub, we fetch your public contribution counts to display your activity graph. We never access your code.

Community content (chat, forum, listings, events, profile) is visible to signed-in club members. Anonymous Mode masks your identity on rankings and community surfaces while keeping your stats counted. Verified revenue is only shown if you share it.

We use a small set of processors to run the service: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple App Store and Google Play (in-app payments), Stripe (website subscriptions and revenue verification you initiate), GitHub (public contribution data you connect), Klipy (GIF search), logo.dev (startup logos), and AI model providers (advisor replies). Each receives only what is needed for its function.

Members can report content and block other members. Reports include the reason and a snippet of the reported content, and are reviewed by us within 24 hours. Blocking hides all of a member's content from your account.

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account): this permanently and immediately erases your profile, startups, tasks, standups, community posts and replies, chat messages, voice notes, listings, events, feedback, analytics trail, and the account itself. It cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — manage that in your App Store or Google Play settings (or on our website for Stripe subscriptions). You can also email contact@startupclub.community and we will delete your account for you.

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA, UK, and California), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email contact@startupclub.community and we will honor valid requests. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Data is encrypted in transit. Database access is enforced with row-level security so members can only read what they are entitled to. Voice notes and screenshots live in private storage buckets accessible only through short-lived signed links.

Startup Club is not directed at children and is not for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child is using the service, contact us and we will remove the account.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and note the change in the app or by email.
