These Terms govern your use of the Startup Club app and website (the "Service"), operated by Edmund Yong ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy (startupclub.community/privacy).
1. Who can use Startup Club
You must be at least 16 years old, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a membership. You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to your sign-in email secure.
2. Free tier and Club membership
The free Builder tier includes personal tools like tasks, standups, and streaks. Club membership is a paid subscription that unlocks the members' community: live chat, forum, founder network, member directory, events, leaderboards, and AI coaching.
3. Billing
- In the app, memberships are auto-renewing subscriptions (currently yearly, 6-month, and 3-month plans) billed by Apple App Store or Google Play at the price shown before purchase. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; deleting the app or your account does not cancel a store subscription. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- On our website, memberships are billed by Stripe and managed at startupclub.community.
- Prices may change for new billing periods; you will always see the price before you are charged.
4. Community rules — zero tolerance
Startup Club is a professional community. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Do not post:
- harassment, hate, threats, or personal attacks;
- sexual, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content;
- spam, unsolicited promotion, affiliate schemes, or list-building;
- scams, fraud, deceptive revenue claims, or impersonation;
- other people's private information (doxxing);
- anything illegal or that infringes someone else's rights.
Reporting and blocking. Every message, topic, reply, listing, and profile can be reported in the app, and any member can be blocked (blocking hides all of their content from you). We review reports within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these rules and, where warranted, eject the offending member. Membership fees of ejected members are not refunded by us; store refunds remain subject to Apple/Google policies.
5. Your content
You own what you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content within the Service so other members can see it (that is the point of a community). Delete your content or your account at any time — deleting your account permanently removes your posts, messages, and data as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Honest metrics
Revenue and activity figures shown by members are self-reported unless marked verified. Verified numbers come from sources the member connected (for example Stripe) and are displayed as reported by that source. We do not guarantee any figure, and nothing in the Service is a promise of business results.
7. AI advisors
AI advisor replies are generated by artificial intelligence for informational purposes only. They are not legal, financial, tax, or investment advice, and they can be wrong. Use your own judgment.
8. Acceptable use of the Service
Do not attempt to break, probe, or overload the Service, scrape member data, resell access, share your account, or use the community to recruit for schemes unrelated to building startups.
9. Our rights
We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, and we may modify or discontinue features. We will not remove your data except as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Apple and Google
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app copy itself, and Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Google Play purchases are subject to Google Play's terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
